Where's the Sound?

kids demo sound classroom direction

Call “Hey Reachy!” and the robot turns to find you. It listens with four microphones, points its head toward the voice, wiggles its antennas, and gives a small happy nod.

A clap works too. In the simulator, Pretend Ears let a child pick left, front, or right while the same turning code runs.

What it does

Where's the Sound is a listening game for class. Reachy's microphone chip reports which way a voice is coming from. The app turns that into a gentle head turn and a projector panel the whole room can read.

  • Voice — say “Hey Reachy!” and it turns toward the caller
  • Clap — a sudden loud sound uses the latest direction
  • Four microphones — the panel shows which mic heard the sound first
  • Pretend Ears — left, front, or right when the simulator cannot hear

How to use it

  1. Install the app from Reachy Mini Control → Applications.
  2. Start Where's the Sound.
  3. Call “Hey Reachy!” from the robot’s left, front, or right.
  4. Open the app UI to project the live arrow, what Reachy heard, and the teacher controls.
